\/ \/ Picture Receiver Below in a Pats Uni \/ \/

Welcome to the Randy Moss Era in New England. The trade was announced earlier in the day ending a few weeks of speculation. Hopefully Brady is now satisfied with the receiving corps after all of the offseason moves the Patriots have done to acquire wide receivers- Wes Welker, Dante Stallworth, Kelley Washington, and now the one and only Randy Moss. Mix in some Ben Watson, Reche Caldwell, Troy Brown, and hell even a little Chad Jackson, and you have one talented bunch that is easy to get excited about. Hopefully we will be spared Tom Brady’s upset glare at Belichick as he rips of chin strap every time a receiver runs a bad route or he makes a bad pass, and I think we will.
The situation is very similar to Philly in ‘04, and hopefully the terrible breakup won't happen with Moss like with TO. I think New England will be too good of a situation for him like when Dillon was added in '04 and ran for 1600+ yards. Mike and I were talking about the deal, he was upset because Moss didn’t go to Green Bay to catch the last balls of Brett Favre, while I am momentarily excited for the NFL season.
In reality though, it is baseball season, so the Pats can wait while the Sox keep beating the Yanks. After all, football will be have probably finished Week 8 before the Sox win the World Series, so it will be a while before need to pass judgment on the Randy Moss Era.

Finally Shaugnessy gets his head out his ass: "In this spirit, it's assumed Moss will drink the Gillette water, see the light, and become a humble, quiet, and selfless team guy. There's some arrogance to this -- the same arrogance that assumes the other 31 NFL head coaches and front offices are clowns and jokers."

Moss was quoted as saying that he doesnt complain when his individual stats arent there, just when his team isnt winning. (Hence the Raiders) Lets hope thats the case cause winning wont be a problem with this loaded NE team. Also, there isnt one player in this league strong enough to break up the pats locker room. Brady, Bruschi, Vrabel, Harrison, Seymour, and Belichick wont take any of his crap and unlike other teams the pats have shown they have the balls to bench or cut stars who dont "drink the gillette water" Good move by the pats.

Perhaps, though we need to view Moss as becoming more selfish and egotisical. He needs to be remembered as a winner. He needs to have a ring before he is done. Now, does his need for these things manifest itself into a extremely productive player? Here is where faith is required. The belief in Moss's ability to: 1)recognize his chance at greatness, 2)be able to embrace it, and 3)ONLY after achieving it, bask in its glory, is tenuous at best. I wouldn't view this as the Patriot's changing Moss, but more Moss wasting (or embracing) the opportunity for even greater self-promotion. -MrG

Hey I don't mind a little post-season promotion leading to an appearance on SNL if it comes after a ring. I think most would accept Randy Moss in their team’s offense for the going-out-of business price of a fourth round pick.
I just love the NFL because the Pats can cut him if he becomes a liability. I just wish the Celts could have done the same to Vin Baker and Theo Ratliff.
